Affinity Group

therecipe:

Affinity Group: ”A small group of people (from 4-20) who work together on direct action. Non-hierarchical, usually comprised only of those who can be vouched for. The use of affinity groups dates back to 19th century Spain, where they were called tertulias or grupos de afinidad. They became popular again in the1970s in the anti-nuclear movement. AG’s are used by many different activists from animal rights, to environmental, anti-war, anti-fascist, and anti-globalization. A collection of affinity groups working together is called a cluster.”
