Hmm, this poster bugs me.

At first I thought it was awesome, but at second glance it is very clearly cissexist; I don’t think this was done on purpose, but whatever happened to privilege checking?

As I realize this, though, I also realize that women who are assigned female at birth (ciswomen) experience sexism BECAUSE of their vaginas, whereas transwomen face an entirely different form of sexism (gender prejudice specifically, along with society’s awful policing of people’s bodies). Although I am a FAAB who is comfortable in her own body regardless of gender fluidity, I can somewhat understand a transwoman’s issues (though I am aware I will probably get responses for this telling me that I know nothing of transgender people’s issues — and I welcome those for learning purposes) and it may seem that I am just not checking my privilege, my opinion remains that feminist issues and transfeminist issues are very different and cannot always be fought the same way. This poster is still relevant for me because the majority of female-identified persons have vaginas and we experience sexism because of our vaginas, whilst prejudice towards transwomen is routed in something else entirely (in my opinion). Thoughts?

Trans women are pressured into having surgery to “correct” their non-womanly genitals, and “girls with dicks” are seen as disgusting. Transmisogynistic jokes set precedent that if you find out a seductive woman has a penis, it’s okay to rape her, assault her, or murder her.
This poster is fucking bullshit. I’m more of a woman than this asshole Brody Dalle.
Also, “my opinion remains that feminist issues and transfeminist issues are very different and cannot always be fought the same way”, transfeminism is an evolution of previously cissexist feminism, where trans women have their own space and their own voice, as opposed to former feminism like the book The Transsexual Empire.

Well actually, William Murderface plays his bass with his penis (though it is significantly fucked up/calloused/scarred from doing that). So in addition to Brody Dalle being someone who is unable to not be a transmisogynistic shit, she’s also unable to do basic research on ‘notable people who play their guitar with their penis’
